Dr. Barghouthi added that the atmosphere should be prepared for early elections in order to maintain the unity of the Palestinians and their land, and to preserve law and order.
“Nobody should be allowed to harm the Palestinian law, and the Palestinian democracy”, Barghouthi said.
He also called for forming a transitional government which will have the responsibility of uniting the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, to restore normal conditions and to maintain law and order in order to prepare for early elections.
Dr. Barghouthi stated that “nobody should forget that the Israeli occupation is our enemy”, and that all efforts should be concentrated on protecting the geographical and demographical unity of the Palestinians in order to counter the Israeli efforts of replacing the solution of an independent Palestinian State with the solution of a state with temporal borders and without geographical contiguity.
